mini grant Program
In order to be considered for a mini grants, the teachers must submit and application to the mini grant commitee and principals which includes a description of the grant, information on how it will enrich their curriculum, the common core standards it meets, how many students it will impact and the budget. The committee then reviews all applications and awards the grants in hopes of finding those that fit the criteria as well as reach as many students as possible.
2016 Grants Awarded
The PTO Mini Grant Committee met to review the applications that were submitted from WH & MP. There were wonderful ideas submitted by both schools, and ultimately it came down to adhering to the mission of the grant which is providing educational opportunities or events for the students, and serving the broadest student populations possible. All teachers will be notified via email individually whether they were not accepted or awarded. We are very excited to announce that the PTO is able to fund $3,400 for special programs and events to the students! We are hoping to find another author visit for the students at Maple Place School which could bring our total closer to $5,000. We are thrilled to offer these opportunities to the students of Oceanport.
